The Ronstan extension is mounted to the tiller with two tapped holes. Drill them out, then drill through the tube and use flathead screws and locknuts to secure it, taping over the whole assembly. Bulletproof. Buy a spare u-joint of the new design ($8). Drill out the rivet that holds the universal, and replace it with a bolt and locknut. Cross drill the replacement at the same time, and tape it inside a storage bin as a spare. Keep the u-joint out of the sun when not racing, as UV degrades it. Inspect for tears before race, and replace yearly.
