Types of Covers Available
- Dry Sail Cover
Cover
the entire deck with the mast up. Designed for use while the boat rests
on the trailer. Most classes use the boom as a ridge pole. Special features
include hooded vents, chafe patches at deck fittings, forestay and goose
neck, and cutouts for stays with zipper access. A mast hole with a collar,
draw rope in hem and lacing loops keep the cover weather tight and securely
in place. Standard cover with a 6" drop provides excellent protection
from sun, rain and debris. Water line (chine) length covers provide
additional protection and are available for most classes.
- Flat Top Cover
- Combination dry
sail / trailing top cover. Use with the mast up or down. Special features
include chafe patches at deck fittings, forestay and goose neck. Cut
outs for mast and stays may be closed when not in use. A mast hole with
a collar, draw rope in hem and lacing loops keep the cover weather tight
and securely in place. Well suited for use as a regatta cover. For long
term storage, a dry sail cover is recommended due to better ventilation
and "tent" style design to allow for rain water runoff.
- One Piece Trailing Cover
- A zippered bag
into which the boat is placed for trailing or storage. Special features
include chafe patches at deck fittings, centerboard, gudgeons and traveler
car. Usually will require two people or a hoist to install. The bow
is inserted into the cover, then it is worked under the boat until the
transom can be covered. Generous "u" shaped zipper allows
easy access for gear storage. Cross tie loops provide tension for trailing
and loops to tie to mast as external ridge. Very popular in some classes,
however, it is not as snug fitting as a two-piece cover.
- Two Piece Trailing Cover
- Separate covers
for top and bottom will provide the best fit and flexibility. Special
features include chafe patches at deck fittings, traveler car and bow.
Either half may be used alone. Bottom cover is worked under boat using
a hoist or two people and laced from sheer to sheer. Draw rope in the
hem and loops to provide proper tension. Top cover has no provision
for mast or stays. It is placed over bottom cover when both are used.
Draw rope in the hem and loops for lacing under the boat. Top loops
are provided to tie to mast for use as external ridge.
- Cockpit Cover
Covers
the cockpit area of the deck only. Typically, the boom is used as a
ridge pole. Secure to snaps or eye straps under rubrail. Special features
include chafe patches at goose neck and outhaul fittings, a mast collar
and #10 vislon zipper. Open end design provides excellent ventilation
and protection from sun, rain and debris. Ease of installation
makes this a popular cover for use while mooring.
- Mast Cover
- A zippered fabric
tube protects the mast while trailing. Access points provided for spreaders
and stays. Helps to keep halyards and standing rigging clean. Reduces
damage to finish due to chafe while trailing. A red trailing flag is
included.
- Rudder Cover / Board
Cover
Provides
scratch and ding protection for critical foils during travel. The blade
should be clean and dry before insertion into cover. Close with snaps
or Velcro. Featuring exclusive Blade-Guard II Material
